Getting accepted into the NCRP Scholars Program was a dream come true and it set me on my career path. I applied because I was interested in reproductive psychiatry and sought mentorship in the field. The program provided the support I needed to design a women’s mental health track for myself since my residency program didn’t have a dedicated track or fellowship. The most valuable part of the program was seeing the excellence and dedication the faculty on the NCRP committee brought to their work. Their standard for the quality of the curriculum reflected how deeply they care about the patient population. Being a scholar shaped my early years as a faculty member and helped me navigate building the reproductive psychiatry service at my hospital. I recommend the program to future applicants because it offers rare access to mentorship from national experts in a supportive setting.

Tolu Odebunmi, Co-director, Women's Wellbeing Program

Associate Residency Program Director, University of Minnesota

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience as a scholar and hope to continue working with NCRP even after I complete the program. Having the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a standardized reproductive psychiatry curriculum is an invaluable experience. Not only do I have the opportunity to help shape education for trainees, but having consistent, 1:1 mentorship from leaders in the field is incredibly helpful as I strive to create a path for myself as a reproductive psychiatrist. I highly recommend applying to be a scholar if you are interested in reproductive psychiatry.
