Self-Study
This section self-study focuses on trauma management in the perinatal period. At the end of this session, learners will be able to identify various types of trauma and discuss the basic principles of Trauma Informed Care, identify evidence-based treatments for PTSD, and compare and contrast various therapy modalities recommended for trauma management (including medication options).
This self-study describes the incidence, risk, and protective factors among the women who are vulnerable to developing stress and trauma disorders after abortion. It demonstrates how to apply sensitive, compassionate, and appropriate communication techniques to women who have experienced PTSS/PTSD from a recent or past abortion and identifies barriers to the diagnosis and treatment of PTSS/PTSD after abortion.
