Substance Use Disorders in the Perinatal Period
This unit covers the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, and treatment of substance use disorders in pregnancy and postpartum. Six self-study segments include information about sex and gender differences in substance use disorders generally, as well as specifics about tobacco, cocaine, methamphetamine, and alcohol use. Classroom activities include case conferences on alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder as well as a media module focused on marijuana use in pregnancy.
