Module:  Infant Mental Health

During the perinatal period, not only are women undergoing a significant developmental transition, but their infants are also developing rapidly within a relational context. An infant’s early life experiences shape their brain development and lay the foundation for long-term cognitive, behavioral, and health impacts.

Reproductive psychiatrist working with women and individuals during the perinatal period will enrich their clinical work by knowing the basics of infant mental health, attachment, and parent-infant relationships.
